A reminder that we will bring our school year to a close at 12:00pm tomorrow, Friday 2 December 2022. Our regular pick up routines apply.
The Advent season is really a beautiful time of the year among people. The anticipation of Christmas brings a sense of hope and a genuine feeling of great joy that brings families and communities together. Importantly, we can all share in the Christmas story and the spirit of the season as we extend care and kindness to others.
The end of the 2022 school year is a time to reflect on all that has been celebrated and accomplished at our school. There have been many highlights in 2022 at Guardian Angels', too many to list. However, the year will be remembered as one where the care and dedication of our staff, and the wonderfully supportive parent and extended community, has enabled a richness in learning and teaching that has inspired each student to achieve success in their own way.
Closing Mass: Friday 2 December at 9:00am
I am looking forward to seeing many of you at our closing mass tomorrow Friday, 2 December, commencing at 9:00am in The Shed. Fr Thomas will celebrate mass with us, and I thank him for his spiritual leadership of our school community during the past year.
Thank you to all in our Guardian Angels’ community for a fabulous year. I would like to wish you all God’s blessings for the Christmas Season, and I look forward to welcoming you back to school on Tuesday 24 January 2023.

St Vincent de Paul – Christmas Appeal
Last week Guardian Angels’ was a sparkly sea of red, green and white as the children came to school wearing their Christmas themed clothes. This day was in aid of the St Vincent de Paul Christmas appeal, which raises much needed funds for those in need at this special time of year. This year GA raised $3,268, a wonderful amount – well done GA!
End of Year Mass
Tomorrow at 9:00am in the MC Shed, we will gather as a community for our End of Year Mass. The Mass will conclude at approximately 9:50am and will be followed by some Christmas Carols. The children will move to lunch at 10:30am before sharing some time with their classmates and teacher. The school day will finish at 12:00pm. Our usual pick-up routines will apply.
Christmas Vigil Mass
This year’s Christmas Vigil Mass will take place at 5:00pm in the MC Shed. A parent slip will be sent home in the coming days with more information and calling for children who may be willing to help with the Mass. Children are invited to come dressed as an angel or shepherd for this Mass.
Wishing everyone a wonderful break and a very merry Christmas.
Blessings for the holidays and 2023,
Liz Morrissey

In other news...
We would love parent helpers in the GA Pick Up/Drop Off Zone next year. Pick up zones operate from 8:00am – 8:25am in the morning and from 2:55pm – 3:20pm in the afternoons. It's an easy 25 mins, opening car doors, helping little people in and out of cars.
If you can spare 20-30 minutes once or twice a week please email Jenny Druce at jdruce@bne.catholic.edu.au with your preferred day, time and campus.
A friendly reminder, before commencing your role as a volunteer or other personnel at our school, you are required to complete the online volunteer training. The training can be found here: https://www.bne.catholic.edu.au/students-parents/student-protection/Pages/Student-Protection-and-Code-of-Conduct-Training-for-Volunteers-and-Other-Personnel.aspx
You will need to download, print and complete your registration form, which is contained within your online training. Return it to the School Office prior to commencing your role.
