Term 3 | Week 2 - School News
Lytton Districts
Over the last two weeks 24 selected students aged 10-12 from Guardian Angels' have been competing at the Lytton District Athletics Event held at UQ Athletic Stadium. The students were selected based on their performance at the Athletics Carnival at Iona and for field events had to meet Metropolitan East qualifying heights and distances.
All of the students represented Guardian Angels' in an outstanding way. From the original 24 students, 14 made it through to Day 2 of the trials competing in semi-finals and finals. Supporting one another the students gave it their best with personal bests being attained for most.
Please send your best wishes to Christina V, Lilly T, Memphis W, Carter B and Rocky B who move on to the next level, representing Lytton District at the Metropolitan East Trials at the end of August. Good luck to you all.
Congratulations to all of the students who represented over the last 2 weeks; I couldn't be prouder of your efforts.

Bay Terrace and Chestnut Street Black Spot Project
Please see below communication from the Brisbane City Council regarding the commencement of roadworks at the intersection of Bay Terrace and Chestnut Street.
While these are predominately night works, please be aware of the reduced carparking spaces and location of site materials at this intersection from 7 August.
Containers for Change
Remember that this year our stewardship committee has started a containers for change initiative. The proceeds will be spent improving our school environment. This will initially include our vegetable patches in Chestnut Street playground. If you are interested in helping us by saving your bottles and distributing them at containers for change then please choose us as your charity. Please use the QR code below.
Thank you.

We encourage you to talk to your child about their favourite book characters from a book they would recommend to others and make a plan for the book character parade. Simple upcycled/recycled/handmade costumes are encouraged.

We would love parent helpers in pick up zones this year. Pick up zones operate from 8:00am – 8:25am in the morning and from 2:55pm – 3:20pm in the afternoons. It's an easy 25 mins, opening car doors, helping little people in and out of cars.

You will need to download, print and complete your registration form, which is contained within your online training. Return it to the School Office prior to commencing your role.
