Term 1 Week 4 News
Year 1
Did you know that this week is the start of the Chinese New Year. The students in Year One have loved reading the picture book Fang Fang’s Chinese New Year. We have been exploring some new vocabulary words and included these on our lanterns. Our favourite new word is FEROCIOUS.
Parent Partnership Evening
Thank you to our families for joining us for our Parent Partnership Evening on Thursday. If was a wonderful opportunity for our families to meet their class teacher and to spend time in their child's classroom. Our expo in the Library showcased the year ahead at GA and we are looking forward to a fantastic 2024.
PARENT INTERNET SAFE EDUCATION SESSION
In partnership with the Guardian Angels’ P&F, we are offering our families a parent information session, focusing on Internet Safety.
This will be held on Wednesday the 28th of February at 6pm in the MC Library.
This session will be delivered by a professional speaker on the topic of digital compliance and internet safety. You will be presented with engaging and powerful information in a way that will bring to life possible online dangers and responsibilities which are a part of your child’s digital world. Strategies of protection and prevention will empower you to reduce online risks within your home.
We look forward to working in partnership with our families to help create safe digital learning environments.
To help prepare for the evening, we ask that you RSVP your attendance through the following link.
In other news ........
We would love parent helpers in pick up zones this year. Pick up zones operate from 8:00am – 8:25am in the morning and from 2:55pm – 3:20pm in the afternoons. It's an easy 25 mins, opening car doors, helping little people in and out of cars.
If you can spare 20-30 minutes once or twice a week please email Fiona Vella at fvella@bne.catholic.edu.au with your preferred day, time and campus.
I have had a few parents contact me about shifts and I will update the roster and publish in next Thursday's bulletin. If I have nominated you for a shift, and it’s not suitable, please let me know.
A friendly reminder, before commencing your role as a volunteer or other personnel at our school, you are required to complete the online volunteer training. This training needs to be renewed annually and can be found here: https://www.bne.catholic.edu.au/students-parents/student-protection/Pages/Student-Protection-and-Code-of-Conduct-Training-for-Volunteers-and-Other-Personnel.aspx
You will need to download, print and complete your registration form, which is contained within your online training. Return it to the School Office prior to commencing your role.
Student Absences
"Parents, kindly notify the school of your child's absence through the parent portal or BCE Connect, including a brief explanation, before 9:00 am. Failure to provide an explanation may prompt a call from the office to ensure the well-being of your child.
