From the Principal
ANZAC day is one of our nation’s most significant days and it reinforces the values that we cherish as a community. On Wednesday, a moving ANZAC remembrance liturgy was led by our service committee. This was a very prayerful experience and enabled a mixture of reflection on the past and optimism for the future to be shared. Our school’s representation at yesterday’s ANZAC march and commemoration was outstanding, and it was wonderful to have so many students, staff and parents marching together as a school community. I know that you would all share with me in congratulating our students on the manner in which they participated and presented themselves, of which we can all be enormously proud.
Often, it is activities like these that remind us that the students that we teach each day may well be the future leaders within their communities tomorrow. This really emphasises the importance of providing opportunities for our students to display and develop their leadership talents.
As we reflect on Anzac Day this year, may it inspire each of us to work for peace and love in our families and communities.
Many blessings for the weekend.
Spotlight on Learning
Our Preps have been learning about Quandmooka Country. They have been focusing on learning about special places in Prep and making connections to First Nation Australians.
ANZAC DAY Litergy
On Wednesday, our school community came together to pay tribute to the brave men and women who have served our nation and continue to. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to them. A special thank you goes to our guest speaker, Mr. Jeff Graham from the Manly Lota RSL, for sharing his insights with us.

Drop off and pick up zone volunteers
We would love parent helpers in pick up zones this year. Pick up zones operate from 8:00am – 8:25am in the morning and from 2:55pm – 3:20pm in the afternoons. It's an easy 25 mins, opening car doors, helping little people in and out of cars.
If you can spare 20-30 minutes once or twice a week please email Fiona Vella at fvella@bne.catholic.edu.au with your preferred day, time and campus.
I have had a few parents contact me about shifts and I will update the roster and publish in next Thursday's bulletin. If I have nominated you for a shift, and it’s not suitable, please let me know.
A friendly reminder, before commencing your role as a volunteer or other personnel at our school, you are required to complete the online volunteer training. This training needs to be renewed annually and can be found here: https://www.bne.catholic.edu.au/students-parents/student-protection/Pages/Student-Protection-and-Code-of-Conduct-Training-for-Volunteers-and-Other-Personnel.aspx
You will need to download, print and complete your registration form, which is contained within your online training. Return it to the School Office prior to commencing your role.

The second hand uniform shop is open on the first Monday of the month with the next open day on Monday 13 May.
The shop will open between 7:45am and 8:20am on the GA campus. Each item is $5. Cash only sales.
